about me.

My name is Mieke (some know me as Annemieke Lais), and I am an entrepreneur and independent consultant with nearly a decade of experience driving transformative change in education. I am passionate about reimagining how we teach and learn, working with corporates, schools, governments, and foundations to shape innovative approaches that unlock human potential. I love working with clients and people who share a vision of a brighter future for education.

That passion shines through in my client collaborations, which range from tech giants like Meta and Google, to creative innovators like Canva and edding. I’ve partnered with corporate pioneers such as Beiersdorf and accenture, worked with impact-driven NGOs like EIL, PXP and #wirfürschule, supported learning hubs from Coursera to [insert XX], and advised governmental bodies from the EU Commission to the German Ministry of Education.

At the core of my work is a lifelong curiosity about what it truly means to live a fulfilled, happy, and purposeful life. This curiosity inspires my commitment to helping both individuals and institutions discover new ways of learning that foster growth and transformation.

I grew up all over the world before calling Berlin home. I studied Sociology and Sinology in Hamburg, completed a master’s in Media Culture in Maastricht, and started my career in advertising — which I hated so much it kicked off a classic quarter-life crisis. That detour, however, led me straight into education, where I finally found my purpose.

I started this mission under the name Eduheroes, but it was never just about me. It's about the teachers, learners, creators, rebels, and quiet revolutionaries who use education to make things better. If that sounds like you, welcome—you’re already one of us. Eduheroes are anyone bold enough to believe that education can change the world—and brave enough to actually do something about it.

Enough about me — now I’d love to hear from you. Whether you're dreaming up bold ideas, building innovative solutions, or rethinking how we learn and grow, let’s connect and co-create a brighter future for education, together.
